Hit Where it Hurts the Most: 5 Vehicles That Are Suffering at the Pump

According to J.D. Power & Associates, overall sales of vehicles are down by eight percent while the sales of SUVs and other large vehicles are down by approximately twenty-three percent. It seems that Americans are finally starting to accept the fact that gas prices may never return to what they once used to be (i.e. $2 per gallon). Additionally, it’s true that you really don’t know how good you had it until you don’t have it anymore. And what many of us don’t have is the money to pay for gasoline that is well on it’s way to $5 per gallon (especially if you’re one of those who are still stuck with your SUV).

Five Vehicles That are Suffering at the Pump

While there are many vehicles out there whose drivers are begrudgingly filling up the gas tank at least once per week, one article cites five vehicles which are really feeling the punch thrown by the pump:

  1. Hummer: Is it really any surprise that the Hummers are taking up space at dealership lots around the country? They suck at gas…literally, costing owners around $120 each time they fill up the tank!
  2. Nissan Titan: Sales of this vehicle are down by 45% so far this year…it’s just another gas guzzler to stear clear of.
  3. Jeep Commander: Only getting 13 mpg, the Jeep is not popular among a lot of people anymore- especially those who do a lot of city-like driving.
  4. Saturn: With new vehicles such as the Outlook and Vue, buyers are that excited, and it’s showing. Sales are down by 20 percent or so.
  5. Toyota Avalon: While Toyota is known for producing pretty decent cars (in terms of gas mileage), the Avalon only comes in a six-cylinder- which is perhaps why sales are down.

  1. It’s good,lot of info……

  2. Cool maybe one of these vehicles can be purchased a deep discount, new or used, that could more than offset its extra fuel costs especially if you don’t drive much.
