According to an article published by Yahoo News, Mercedes-Benz is planning to get rid of petroleum-powered vehicles within the next seven years so that they can focus more on alternative fuel sources such as electric, fuel cell and biofuels.
Mercedes-Benz isn’t the only car manufacturer that’s looking to cut costs and save energy though. Many car manufacturers are putting out hybrid versions of vehicles and making an effort to appeal to those consumers who are interested in utilizing an energy source that will not only be available but won’t cost them that much out of pocket. Although it is unclear as to whether most consumers are motivated to purchase hybrid vehicles due to the exorbitant price of gasoline, it seems that there are a fair share of people who are genuinely concerned about the environment and are buying into the idea of hybrid as a result.

The gas crisis hasn’t totally been in vain. If anything, it has forced people to be more innovative, discovering different ways to improve and figure out how to get from place to place. The oil is gone!
